We were having fun playing in the basement this afternoon. I wanted to try something out with both girls but one of them was quickly distracted so my youngest was the lucky model. I thought this star might work for a holiday prop in the next few months for a baby around her age. I like the simplicity of it with the baby being the touch of colour to draw your eye to her.
Below are a couple of images I tried for after seeing all three of "my girls" sitting together so nicely. I don't have much experience with photographing pets yet. I grew up with just about every domestic animal though. We had many different birds, bunny rabbits, hamsters, rapidly multiplying gerbils, fish, turtles, lizards, snakes, a giant tadpole, dogs, cats, etc... One might say I grew up in a zoo with all the animals and my 5 sisters as well. I am the second youngest of the mix.
Today it was like working with another toddler in the room with Aspen's attention span. I would get them all lined up so well and take a step back and one of the three would move on me. This is where a second person or parent really comes in handy. Our baby is on the verge of crawling any day now and will get up on all fours and rock back and forth. She somehow manages to move a few cm's at a time doing this.
