Day tripping in Toronto

I had a nice break yesterday away from the girls as a treat for my birthday. I needed a mini vacation away and wanted to take in a little city culture. I am thankful that my husband enjoys these breaks too and doesn't mind being dragged into galleries and stores and is always patient while I snap my camera away at the strangest things, including him ;). Overnights are overrated at this stage for me as I just end up pining away in the middle of the night for those wake up cries and end up missing the girls before morning...ha, I say that only because we just haven't had the opportunity but I do know from past experiences that I do find myself missing them so much.

So here is a glimpse of my day in the city. We spent a couple of hours at the Toronto Distillery District gallery hopping and enjoying a chocolate treat at one of their many specialty cafes. I feel completely in my own element when taking in all the different works of art. Alas, Matt talked me into putting the camera away when we made our way to the St. Lawrence Market to people watch and grab a delicious bite to eat for lunch.

I loved the textures and colours on this door with the contrast of the lock.
