Today was a busy day filled with crafts, cupcakes, songs and playing in the sandbox. Yes, that is right...sandbox. A couple of days ago I let Abby get some fresh air with our furry friend. I have always been a bit paranoid of letting her have free reign in the backyard as we have a walkout basement and she isn't as easy to get to if she needs me. She has gained much respect from me over the past year being a big sister and all so I have been letting the leash get a little looser. Well, what do you think goes through a three year old's mind when they see a sandbox? Bare feet! That's right, bare feet in below zero, frigid winter weather. She wanted to feel the sand on her toes. Silly girl, it took her a total of 5 minutes to get into mischief but the smile on her face...Well, today, I took the little ones and Abby out and sat them in the sand while Abby made sure they played nicely together. It was kind of refreshing to see sand this time of year. Memories of warmth and sun come to mind and are a little reminder that spring is around the corner and more outdoor play is on its way!
Here are some shots from today's fun. I rarely let the girls have sugary treats so it is a real event here when we bake and I let them have some tastes. It usually only happens on holidays or birthdays. Madison is still getting the bare minimum to avoid a sweet tooth. I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day full of love and enjoys their Family Day!

I come from a long line of taste testers...it is only natural that she want a lick ;).

I saw this on another photographers blog this week and had to try it out on my little ones, it was so sweet. I am an avid scrap booker when time permits and love finding new things to try with my little ones to document their memories. I don't think I captured it as well as her but I still love it!

All that hard work is paying off with Abby and she is starting to learn the joy of sharing...for the most part.

I love the photo of Abby with the spoon in her hand and cupcake mix on her nose. I miss her so! And Miss Madison, standing in the corner...what on Earth could a child with such sweet face do to deserve standing in the corner?=) (kidding) She's so adoreable! Happy Family day and V-day!
