Thursday, March 4

Another busy week here at the Black house hold and Friday is one sleep away! My weeks with the girls are filled with crafts, stories, walks, naps, snacks, lunches...the list is endless and ever changing but this long list I love as I know that one day they will both be so independent and not have the need for half the stuff I do with and for them now and I will miss these days. I try to get a craft in a day these days and the idea of spring being just around the corner inspired me to plant some seeds and decorate bird houses. My first attempt at this was last March and we had a pretty healthy veggie garden going, alas, with little baby Madison keeping me very occupied, the weeds participated in the growth and I had no time to cull them. I got a fist full of stinging nettle during one of my attempts at weeding the overgrowth and sadly gave up. Hopefully our vegetable garden will look and taste as good as our perennial flower gardens this year.

I loved the idea of decorating flower pots after taking one home from Abby's daycare a couple of years ago with what turned into gorgeous marigolds (thank you Jennifer) and wanted to send our little daycare friend home with one too. Note to anyone attempting this craft, don't use glitter glue on terra cota pots. When you water the plant it soaks through to the glue making it wet again. They look pretty though ;).

I had Abby plant Carnation seeds in the pots. This will be my first attempt with Carnations and these seeds were a birthday present to me from her Great Grandma last year. I am excited to see how they turn out.

I love this one as it looks like she is waiting for it to sprout right away.

Madison had fun trying her hand at watercolour painting and bird house decorating.

Last night I looked out and saw this gorgeous sunset at 6:25pm from our window. I am so excited to see sun after 5pm now!
