Another Contest ~ Durham Region and Toronto Photographer

I hope that everyone enjoyed the sunshine we had for Easter weekend. Our first flowers bloomed in the front garden last week and the amount of buds sprouting on trees and pushing through the garden dirt is truly amazing. Thank you rain and thank you mother nature! Such a beautiful sight to see!




Oh spring, I love what you promise...flowers, rebirth, green and every colour imaginable is on its way along with warmer and longer days.  That means more outdoor sessions!! Yeah!!! There is just something magical about babies, childhood, families and young love when combined with a beautiful garden or landscape or the harsh contrast of an urban backdrop when shooting outdoors. I find children and adults often loosen up more and become themselves outdoors as well. Being in front of a camera can definitely be daunting. I know how it feels and have always preferred to be the one taking the photos. For the sake of my children I do make an effort to get some snaps every now and then with me in them these days.

As promised, I am going to announce my giveaway for my FaceBook fan page. Small businesses are born everyday and the best way to shout it out and gain more business is through word of mouth advertising and referrals. I have come across many contest ideas since embarking on this journey almost a year ago and thought that it was time to do a Face Book Fan page contest to get more readers to my blog to see my work and know my business exists. I originally thought that I would do a giveaway once I reached 350 fans by Mother's Day and less then 2 weeks later I went from 260 fans to over 300! Thank you for all who have suggested my page to friends and family already :). The only problem is that some of the new fans have several mutual friends that are already fans so I do not know who referred you. They can be entered multiple times for a better chance to win and you can be entered too by referring fans to my business page. You will also be entered to win with every comment you leave on the blog no matter what blog post you leave it on! Since I had such a terrible time deciding what to give away I decided to go with two different prizes, one at 350 and one at 400 fans!! The first is for fans in Durham Region, Ontario.

The first giveaway will be a 1-2 hour portrait session with Amber Black Photography that includes a 16x24 gallery wrap canvas of your favorite image from the session. This includes 4 people or less from your immediate family, it can be a family session, sibling session, baby session, "Cherish the Dress" session (thank you Colleen), engagement or couples session or just simply an updated photo session of yourself or even your pets, a somewhat unfamiliar territory I would love to try out. This give away session only pertains to fans that live within a 60km radius of Durham Region (that includes Toronto as far as York Region) and the session can take place in the spring / summer season at a location of choice*. For those who are only slightly farther an additional mileage fee is applicable and each additional person is $25 if you have a larger family. Additional prints can be purchased at 25% off the regular a la carte prices.

 This is worth $525!!! Why you ask? Well, I had the pleasure of seeing my work on a large canvas this week thanks to a dear friend of mine and was wowed by how it turned out. It kind of choked me up to see it actually it looked so good. Thank you!  Ok, ok, more details...the goal is to reach 350 FB fans by Mothers Day. That is on May 9th.
