Alas, we pull out of the driveway and down the street and a light bulb went off that my husband packed the tripod with no tripod head to mount the camera on because, silly me, normally doesn't keep it together and I haven't used it in ages. So back to the house we went and to no avail did it turn up...a hazard of living with other people and children, things have a tendency to not stay in one place...yeah, who am I kidding, I have always been a little artsy-fartsy and scattered at times. It is a trade off for having that artistic vision I guess. No matter, I managed to find a way when we got there. We had a lovely drive in the frosty sunshine and found a quiet country road about 20 minutes north of us. We were amazed to see so many Canadian Geese still grazing in a nearby field.
This will be my very first attempt at doing a family / self portrait. I much prefer slightly candid photos for families then ones that are posed and everyone looks perfect. I must say I had lots of fun running back and forth to the camera to press the self timer and in the process, hurt my ankle. Yikes! I can't wait to them in print!! Below is a favorite of mine.
Although snow has yet to arrive here and grace us with its holiday charm, I thought I would try to add some myself at home. I think this one below may make it to our holiday cards for our friends and family!

It was so nice to see Abby the other day. Is it my imagination or is Madison looking more and more like Abby each time I see her? So beautiful!
I love the family protrait, an excellent choice for your Christmas card! Hope you have an amazing Christmas! Have you been incredibly busy with sessions? Maybe in the new year we can squeeze a Heemskerk session in?!
